I'm definitely in favor, as a Catholic and as a pragmatist, of commuting Stanley “Tookie” Williams' death sentence to life without parole, so that he can continue his redemptive works (and because I believe “pro-life” means the WHOLE life). But I had to chuckle this morning when the news talked about all these hip-hop artists [sic] crusading for clemency, with Snoop Dogg going so far as cutting a new single on the matter, trying to bring justice to this reformed gangster.

Um, Snoop? Another thing you could do to make a positive impact might be to, oh I dunno, lay off the violent and misogynist lyrics. Just a thought.

You've got to put that bitch in her place, even if it's slapping her in her face.
Ya got to control your hoe.

Ah, yes, Snoop's really lookin' out for tha hood.
