One of the things I look forward to the least about political volunteerism is door-to-door canvassing. It might be surprising to some, and totally unsurprising to others, that even someone who relishes getting up on stage to sing bad karaoke or perform in a play (except maybe the musical ones…never did care for those) dreads the idea of talking to one person at a time about something I actually believe in. Fear of rejection? Fear of intimacy? Sobriety? Whatever the cause, I forget each time that canvassing really isn’t all that bad. And over the last few weeks, I’ve been editing together a little video to try to fire up the YDAtl troops before we get to the election.
