So a couple weeks ago I started hearing about this Public Radio Talent Quest, and some friends had suggested I submit something from my past podcasting repertoire. I thought that sounded like a GREAT idea, but you know, with grad school and politickin’, I kept putting it off.

The deadline is MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. And having listened to everything in my podcast library, there ain’t a two minute clip that I feel meets the general guidelines set forth in a very hard-to-find (and still quite ambiguous) blog post on the NPR contest website.

So, my backup, half-assed plan is to read an old, popular blog post into the mic when I get home from the mountains in a few hours — hopefully one without too much profanity or Imus-like insults. As I’m about to spend the next few hours in the car unable to go back over my archives, I’d LOVE some input from the audience as to your favorite, possibly NPR-worthy posts. Please leave your comments, even if you can’t find the particular post and can only remember “that one about the bucket not for to poop in.” (Hint: I don’t think the bucket not for to poop in quite makes the public radio cut.) Many thanks.
