Mo’ pimpin’

I didn’t even know till last night that Creative Loafing actually has a category in this year’s Best of Atlanta for “Best Local YouTube Video.” Technically I’m not sure what the hell that means — best vid produced by a local vlogger regardless of content? Best vid produced by anyone about Atlanta-related subject matter? Both? Hmph.
Well, if you think you have a clue what they’re looking for, and you haven’t already voted (and you live in the Atlanta area — even temporarily, Todd, and yes Betsy I think Savannah counts, too), and you haven’t got some other favorite local YouTube video (you cheating bastards!), maybe you could head over to the Loaf’s Best Of website and, when you get to the bottom of page 2, enter the URL (I guess that’s what they want? and maybe the title?) of one of your favorite of these? You have until Wednesday.
There’s the ever-popular Mike Gravel WTF question, though that’s not really an Atlanta-related video (though it was filmed at Piedmont Park),

I’m a bit more partial to the chicken-suited “Where’s Whitehead” version myself, and that’s a lot more local, at

And if local content isn’t a factor at all (though I did mention the Senator’s recent visit to Atlanta in the beginning), there’s the video that made me (almost) famous, musical advice for Hillary Clinton, at

If you’re totally stumped on what other 9 answers you ought to provide to complete your minimal voting, might I suggest
- Local Indie-rock act: Luigi
- Local folk act: Little Country Giants
- Bartender: Artie at the Vortex
- Neighborhood bar: U-Joint
- Street character: Baton Bob
- Tattoo artist: Ben at Sacred Heart
- Best-looking waitstaff: Apres Diem
- Beer selection: Vortex Midtown
Now go, exercise your commercialized and ultimately pointless right to vote! Or just get back to work. That’s what I’m gonna do.
