Today, a bunch of 30-somethings (and some younger, 20-something whipper-snappers) brought new gusto to the phrase, “Youth is wasted on the young.” There’s no reason borderline grown-ups can’t rent inflatable party equipment, cover it with water and dishsoap, and do our best to herniate several disks in our spines while wearing anything from a purple velvet jumpsuit to tighty-whites and a headband (believe me, you are glad my cameraphone isn’t good at capturing action shots):

The first time someone hit the slide too fast and went flipping right over the end was unintentional; it soon thereafter became a matter of macho prowess and a way to earn “style points.”
