Street Team ‘08 retrospective

A few weeks ago I mentioned this shindig over at the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation with CBS political correspondent Jeff Greenfield. Since Jeff had said that the current state and trajectory of media tested his faith in American polity, I threw together this little look back at the MTV Choose or Lose Street Team ‘08 experiment:
Lucky for me, something got screwed up in the A/V system between Monday’s sound check and Tuesday’s event, my video had no sound, and I looked like a friggin’ idiot in front of the whole audience. Yeehaw!

Nice job Shelby. I am sold. Much like I sold the last 11 months of my life to do this. But all in all - worth every sleepless night.

Ditto! Great job! After watching this, the new media neophytes, like myself, will gain a better understanding of 1) the mission of MTV’s Street Teamers and 2) how these methods actually attempt to reach an audience that may otherwise be unengaged in and uninformed about the political process and its players.
Personally, I think it’s great to see so many people talking about the various (local and national)campaigns. In the past, when I talked about issues or candidates, people’s eyes would glaze over.
Love the new-found excitement.
